See (2019)

See (2019) is a dystopian science fiction series created Steven Knight, set in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity has lost the ability to see. The show, which premiered on Apple TV+, explores themes of survival, power, and human resilience in a society where blindness is the norm, and vision is a rare and almost mythical phenomenon. The series stars Jason Momoa, Alfre Woodard, and Sylvia Hoeks, and is known for its compelling world-building, unique premise, and intense action sequences.

The story of See is set centuries after a catastrophic event has wiped out the majority of humankind. The survivors live in tribes, and due to the loss of vision, society has adapted in ways that are unimaginable to those living in the modern world.

People navigate their surroundings through heightened senses such as hearing and touch, relying on their instincts and other abilities to survive. The concept of vision is seen as both a myth and a threat, and any individuals born with the ability to see are considered dangerous.

At the center of the series is Baba Voss (played by Jason Momoa), a fierce and protective warrior who leads his tribe. Baba Voss’s world is turned upside down when a woman named Maghra (played by Hera Hilmar) gives birth to twins, who, against all odds, possess the ability to see.

This sets off a chain of events, as the twins’ abilities are seen as a dangerous threat by the ruling forces of the world, particularly a powerful queen named Kane (played by Sylvia Hoeks). She believes that vision is a curse that needs to be eradicated, and she is willing to do anything to hunt down the twins and control their power.
