The 55-year-old musician took to Instagram, posting: “I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together. Dave.”

Widely regarded as one of the nicest and down-to-earth personalities in the music business, Grohl has been an ever-present in the industry since Nirvana’s rise to fame in the late 1980s, enjoying continued fame with the rock band that he formed in 1994, Foo Fighters.

Grohl has been married to model and TV producer Jordyn Blum, 48, since 2003, with the couple having three daughters together; Violet Maye, 18, Harper Willow, 15 and Ophelia Saint, 10.

The musician and his wife have been publicly photographed together just a few months ago, as the pair attended Wimbledon in London in the summer.

His marriage to Jordyn is his second, having been married to photographer Jennifer Leigh Youngblood from 1994 to 1997, with Grohl later admitting that he cheated on her as well.

Grohl and the other members of Foo Fighters recently hit out at Donald Trump for using their music during his presidential election campaign, allegedly without permission.

The band’s song ‘My Hero’ was played at an Arizona rally recently, as a spokesperson for the band told PA news agency: “Foo Fighters were not asked permission, and if they were they would not have granted it.”

Along with Celine Dion, they join a long list of music acts who have publicly spoken out against Trump for using their music without consent, with the latter calling him out after he played her classic song ‘My Heart Will Go On’ during a campaign rally earlier this September.
